How Long Do Slow Feed Nets last?

How Long Do Slow Feed Nets last?

This depends on how aggressive or passive the horse is towards this new method of feeding. We recommend that there be no shoes and nothing on the horse that can catch the net. We have had some clients get 4 years out of a net and we  have had some horse owners get 4 months out of the net. The most important factor is to make sure that the mesh opening is large enough to allow the feed to come out of the open mesh area. You will need to determine if you have a course or a fine hay that is being used. You do not want to have a mesh opening that is too small so that it restricts their intake of feed.
